A new elegant body and consistent performance in the main areas - autofocus, zoom, and white balance. In almost any shooting situations PowerShot SX230 HS is able to produce very pleasing photographs without problem, and it’s the main point of this travel digital camera.
PowerShot SX230 HS is a huge 12 MP Canon PowerShot having 4 image processor digital camera. The level of detail you can get really is amazing. Imagine being able to zoom in on faraway objects and take exceptionally vivid photos with 12 megapixels! This is the first Canon PowerShot to come with GPS technology that'll automatically tag your photos with time and locations. All the photos' locations can be viewed on a map by using special bundled software. The Outstanding things about this PowerShot SX230 HS is that It has the higher sensitivity, higher resolution and a wider zoom range beside the images that are reasonably noise free up to an ISO of about 400. Auto focus is fast and accurate. The SX230 HS boasts the same big 14x optical zoom lens as its earlier incarnation, but adds Full HD (1080p) movie recording (compared to its predecessor's 720p offering), complete with stereo sound, as well as another of its headline features: built-in GPS.
The flash range is short, but decent for group shots up to about 10 or 11 feet away. The Canon Powershot SX230 HS as travel cameras, has the close focus distance (in macro mode or not) that is dependent of the zoom setting. Focus is limited to 1 Meter at the longer focal length and 5 cm at the shortest. The viewing screen will display the close focus limit as focal length is changed. At the wide angle to moderately long zoom settings the lens is still quite sharp and zoom settings of between 40 and 70 mm (the maximum for this lens) it becomes pretty soft and looses contrast. Image is good with mid zoom range images of stationary objects possible down to 1/8 to 1/15th. sec hand held.
The manual, aperture-priority, and shutter-priority selections are among 13 presented on the PowerShot SX230 HS's back-mounted mode dial. The dial itself is a bit cluttered with icons, but it does lock into place nicely with each selection, and it provides quick access to a number of frequently used shooting modes. Auto mode, Portrait mode, Landscape mode, and a fast-shutter/high-ISO Kids & Pets mode are all directly accessible via selections on the mode dial.
Although PowerrShot SX230 is a small size camera where usually the location of the pop-up flash makes it not an easy to hold, you can adapt to it with a little practice. The wrist strap will help handle this camera safely!
